We’ve gone online!

One of the unique strengths of CAP’s debt help is that our debt coaches and befrienders visit our clients in their own homes and are able to offer a real personal service. In March, when the first national lockdown came into force we were sadly unable to carry on visiting clients in this way. In addition, our group services (Job Club, Life Skills and Money courses) had to cease meeting in person. However, those at CAP Head Office got to work to enable us front-line staff to be able to serve our clients online and over the phone. We are now able to take on new clients again and continue to support our existing ones on their journey out of debt. We have also been able to take some of our group services online too, with two CAP money courses and two Steps to Employment courses already under our belts, with more planned for the future. Although, we very much miss being able to meet with our clients and group members in person and build community with them, it has been vital to still be able to offer these great resources. There have even been surprise benefits to the adjusted way of operating, in that we have had people joining us in our groups from as far afield as Wales!
